Today was another “hard leg” day, but I went back to the more standard version I do that has a long warmup and cooldown, with some shorter intervals in between. This follows Clarence Bass’s dictum “walk and sprint, not much in between”, and works well for me. It started to rain pretty heavily (which we need) so I finished up the cooldown indoors on my trainer. I felt great afterwards, “exhilarated not exhausted”, as Coach Bill Bowerman recommended.
